Rick started at an early age attending Federation meetings with his father in 1964. He has been active in sportsman’s issues for the past 20 years, serving as LKS President, Vice President and currently Director of the 6th District. The top priority for Rick is to focus on communication of issues concerning the sportsmen and women of Kentucky. Rick is a member of Clark County Fish & Game, Appalachian Outdoors Association and The National Rifle Association

The 2021 League of Kentucky Sportsmen’s Annual Convention is fast approaching.
This years convention will be hosted by the 6th District Federation & the 8th District Federation.
The convention will be held in Lexington, Kentucky at the Clarion Hotel. The address for the hotel is 1950 Newtown Pike. The LKS Convention dates are Sept 10 – September 12th, 2021. The Business meeting will be Saturday September 11th and will begin at 9:00 am.
Rooms are being held at the Clarion Hotel at the reduced rate of $95.00 per night and will include a free breakfast. This rate will be good until 3:00 pm August 20th. If you make your reservations after that time and date it will be the hotels regular weekend rate. The phone number for reservations is (859) 233-0512. You must mention that you are with the League of Kentucky Sportsmen when making your reservations to get the discounted rate.
There are 2 resolutions that will be presented at the business meeting this year they are enclosed in the packet. If your club has a resolution it will need to be mailed to the LKS office by August 1st or brought to the Annual Business meeting on Saturday morning. Emergency resolutions will be accepted at the Annual Business meeting providing there are 100 copies at the registration desk prior to 8:00 am on Saturday morning (9/11) of the meeting.
The League will co-host an awards banquet and dinner this year with the Kentucky Wildlife Federation Foundation on Saturday evening, September 11th. The banquet will require a dinner ticket, which will need to be purchased by September 3rd. The final count will be given to the Caterer on September 4th, NO tickets can be purchased after that date. The doors will open at 6:00pm and dinner will be at 7:00pm with award presentation following.
For each banquet ticket purchased you will receive a ticket to be entered to win a door prize that was donated by the 8th District. The winner will receive a Stevens Turkey 20gauge, a Turkey call and Turkey decoy. There will be other items added to the package.
The 2021 KWFF Conservation Achievement Award Nomination form is also enclosed. If you have a member of your club, or you feel that a club or organization deserves special recognition for their conservation efforts please complete the enclosed form. The group, club or person must qualify for one of the 10 categories listed. Please return the completed nomination form to the KWFF by August 15th.
